Creating Your Own Fitness Routine

Creating a fitness routine that works for you is essential to maintaining a consistent exercise!! Here are some tips to help you create your own fitness routine!!

I also did another blog post where I spoke on all things wellness! Including, VS Model Workouts and Breakfast Ideas!!

Assess Your Fitness Goals!

Determine what you want to achieve through your fitness routine. Do you want to improve your cardiovascular health, build strength, or lose weight? Knowing your fitness goals can help you choose the right types of exercises to include in your routine.

Choose Activities That You Enjoy!

The key to sticking to your fitness routine is to choose activities that you enjoy. If you hate running, don't force yourself to do it. Instead, try swimming, hiking, or dancing. There are so many different types of physical activities to choose from, so experiment with different types until you find the ones that you enjoy the most.

Schedule Your Workouts!

Schedule your workouts just like you would any other appointment. This will help you stay committed to your fitness routine. Whether you prefer to work out in the morning, afternoon, or evening, make sure to schedule your workouts at a time when you're most likely to stick to them.

Mix It Up!

Include a variety of activities in your fitness routine to keep things interesting and prevent boredom. Doing the same types of exercises every day can become monotonous, so try to switch it up by including different types of exercises on different days. For example, you could do cardiovascular exercise on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and strength training on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Different Types of Physical Activity!

There are many different types of physical activities that you can incorporate into your fitness routine. Here are a few examples:

Cardiovascular Exercise!

This type of exercise is great for improving your heart health and burning calories. Examples include running, cycling, swimming, and dancing. If you're new to cardiovascular exercise, start slow and gradually increase your intensity over time.

Strength Training!

Strength training helps build muscle mass and improve bone density. Examples include weightlifting, bodyweight exercises, and resistance band workouts. If you're new to strength training, start with light weights and gradually increase the weight as you become stronger.

Flexibility and Balance!

Flexibility and balance exercises help improve your range of motion and prevent injuries. Examples include yoga, Pilates, and tai chi. These types of exercises are great for improving your flexibility, reducing stress, and enhancing your overall sense of well-being.

Another really good and important thing when working out consistently is SELF-CARE!!!!!

Self Care and Cycle Syncing!

This is really important when working out! Remembering not to push yourself to hard or past your limits is something to keep in mind! Also, you can align your workouts based on your current stage of your cycle! Here is a bit on that!

First, let's define what cycle syncing is. It's the practice of aligning your exercise routine with your menstrual cycle. Our bodies go through different hormonal changes during different phases of our menstrual cycle, and these changes can affect our energy levels, mood, and overall well-being.

So, how can you cycle sync with your workouts? Here are some tips:

1. Know your cycle: The first step is to track your menstrual cycle, so you know when you're ovulating, when you're premenstrual, and when you're on your period. There are many apps and tools available to help you do this.

2. Plan your workouts accordingly: During your follicular phase (the first two weeks of your cycle), you may have more energy and stamina, so this is a great time to focus on strength training and high-intensity workouts. During your luteal phase (the two weeks before your period), you may feel more fatigued and bloated, so try to focus on low-impact exercises like yoga and Pilates.

3. Listen to your body: Even if you have a plan in place, it's important to listen to your body and adjust your workouts as needed. If you're feeling particularly tired or crampy, it's okay to take a break or opt for a gentler workout.

4. Fuel your body: Eating a balanced diet with plenty of protein, healthy fats, and complex carbs can help support your energy levels and overall health during your menstrual cycle.

Cycle syncing with your workouts can help you optimize your exercise routine and feel more in tune with your body. By planning your workouts around your menstrual cycle and listening to your body's needs, you can promote overall health and well-being. Remember, everyone's menstrual cycle is different, so don't be afraid to experiment and find what works best for you. Happy cycling!
