How to ACTUALLY Study for an Exam with Belle!!

It's not a secret that school is stressful, especially when it comes to exams. Sure, stress can be a good motivate but it's when you feel stressed for a long time after an event has happened is when it starts to have negative impacts on you and your body. Here are my top three ways to relax before and after the exam.

1. Plan as best as you can.

This plan should be relatively flexible. i.e don’t plan for when you breath. Take breaks every 45 minutes as that is how long your brain can focus solely on one task. Taking a break every 45 minutes allows for better recall. You should also plan a time that you have to be in in bed asleep by (obviously, you aren't able to plan how long it'll take for you to fall asleep but having a studying ends time is good.) This helps stop you from being sleep deprived but can also eliminate that late night "I have to get everything done or I'm going to fail" mindset.

2. Practice any form of mindful breathing technique.

Tests are stressful and some people's stress responses are to either hyperventilate or hold their breath without realizing. A way to combat this happening is in the lead up to the test practice a form of mindful breathing that you use during the test. Mindful breathing is essentially breathing where the exhale is longer than the inhale by a few seconds. Mindful breathing helps you keep your breathing under control as well as relaxing your muscles, making it easier to stay calm.

3. Only you know what you need.

If you need to take an extra break or you need to stop/pause studying for whatever reason it may be do so and don’t feel bad for taking the break you need. Take care of yourself first, do what makes you happy and keeps your mind healthy.

Now that you have a few strategies for before the test let's talk about after.

1. Have a self-care night.

Celebrate! You just completed a test. Have a self-care night, eat your fave food, do some skin care, watch a movie, do what you love. Even if you don't think you've done as well as you could have, throw that feeling out of the window and celebrate that you have just finished something you've been working towards.

2. Talk about it with others or journal it.

Take some time to talk to a person you trust or write in a journal about how you felt before, during and after the test. This can help you recognize your emotions and help you better understand them.

3. Clean up.

Clear up your study space, this can help your brain realize that the test is over. This can help alleviate stress in your body and help you start to relax.

Keep in mind, these work for me and may not work for you but give them a try. If you never try you never learn.

Thanks for reading.

Lots of love and well wishes,

Your bestie Belle ♡

Healthy Hair Tips!

Having healthy hair is an important aspect of overall personal grooming and can impact your self-confidence. Here are some tips for having healthy hair:

  1. Eating a balanced diet: Your hair needs a variety of nutrients to grow and be healthy. Eating a balanced diet with plenty of vitamins and minerals such as iron, vitamin C, and biotin can help improve the health of your hair.

  2. Hydration: Drinking plenty of water is essential for overall health and can help keep your hair hydrated and prevent breakage.

  3. Minimize heat styling: Frequent use of heat styling tools, such as blow dryers, flat irons, and curling irons, can cause damage to your hair. If you must use heat styling tools, make sure to use a heat protectant spray.

  4. Avoid harsh chemicals: Harsh chemicals in hair products, such as dyes, relaxers, and perms, can damage the hair and scalp. Consider using natural and organic hair products to minimize damage.

  5. Brush and comb gently: Brushing and combing your hair when it's wet can cause breakage. It's best to brush your hair gently when it's dry and use a wide-toothed comb to avoid tangles.

  6. Get regular trims: Regular trims can help prevent split ends and breakage, promoting healthy hair growth.

  7. Scalp care: A healthy scalp is essential for healthy hair. Make sure to keep your scalp clean and free of buildup and massage your scalp regularly to increase blood flow and promote hair growth.

Remember, everyone's hair is different, so what works for one person may not work for another. Pay attention to how your hair reacts to different products and techniques and adjust your hair care routine as needed.

Starting a passion project can be an exciting and fulfilling experience. Here are some steps you can follow to start your own passion project:

  1. Identify your passion: The first step is to identify what you are truly passionate about. It could be anything from writing, painting, cooking, gardening, or learning a new skill.

  2. Define your goals: Once you have identified your passion, define your goals for the project. Do you want to create something for yourself or for others? Do you want to monetize your project or keep it as a personal hobby?

  3. Make a plan: Create a plan for your project. This includes outlining the steps you need to take to achieve your goals, setting deadlines, and creating a timeline.

  4. Gather resources: Gather all the resources you need to start your project. This could include materials, tools, or information.

  5. Start small: Start small and take baby steps towards your goals. Don't overwhelm yourself with too much work all at once.

  6. Stay motivated: Staying motivated is key to completing your passion project. Set reminders, track your progress, and celebrate your accomplishments along the way.

  7. Stay consistent: Consistency is key to maintaining your passion project. Make time for it regularly, and don't let other commitments get in the way.

How to Start and Build New Habits!

Starting and building a new habit can be challenging, but there are some strategies that can help increase your chances of success. Here are some steps to get started:

  1. Identify the habit you want to build: Start by identifying the specific habit you want to develop. Be clear about what you want to achieve and why it is important to you.

  2. Start small: Break down the habit into small, manageable steps. This makes it easier to get started and reduces the risk of feeling overwhelmed.

  3. Create a plan: Set a specific goal for yourself and create a plan to achieve it. For example, if you want to start a habit of exercising, plan out when and where you will exercise, and what type of exercise you will do.

  4. Set reminders: Use reminders to help you remember to do the new habit. You can set reminders on your phone, put up sticky notes, or use other visual cues to remind you to take action.

  5. Track your progress: Keep track of your progress by using a journal or an app. This will help you stay motivated and see how far you have come.

  6. Reward yourself: Celebrate your successes by rewarding yourself for sticking to the new habit. This could be something small, like a treat or a break, or something more significant, like a new outfit or a day off.

  7. Stay accountable: Find someone to hold you accountable for sticking to the new habit. This could be a friend, family member, or a coach.

Remember, building a new habit takes time and patience. It's important to be kind to yourself and not get discouraged if you have setbacks. Keep at it, and over time, the new habit will become a part of your routine.
